Reality Check Lesson — Honest Numbers Worksheet
A diagnostic lesson that walks students through an honest reality check of the numbers — current state, runway, gaps, and 'what would have to be true' for the plan to work — pilots career-transition finances but the pattern fits any 'face the math' lesson.
Best for: Diagnostic lessons that help students confront real numbers and assumptions before making a big decision — finances, time, capacity, or any other resource.

What it does
- Current-state intake — an editable form where students enter their starting numbers (savings, income, expenses, debts)
- Goal and gap calculator — once the numbers are in, the lesson shows the gap between today and the goal in plain language
- Assumptions audit — a list of the assumptions a student is making and prompts to mark which are 'safe', 'risky', or 'unknown'
- Stress-test scenarios — three what-if scenarios (best, base, worst) recalculate the gap so students see the range
- Decision triage card — a closing block that helps students decide between 'proceed', 'adjust the plan', or 'wait and rebuild'
- Action steps and check-in date — the lesson ends by translating the result into the next three actions and a date to revisit
Best use cases
- Personal finance and money coaching — runway, debt payoff, retirement-readiness reality checks
- Career and professional coaching — financial diagnostic before a job change or pivot
- Business and entrepreneurship — runway and burn-rate reality check for founders and freelancers
- Health and fitness — honest baseline assessment before setting a transformation goal
- Time and capacity coaching — auditing real available hours versus planned commitments
What you can change with your DNA
When you run this through the remix skill, your CCOS DNA — brand, voice, audience — drives these decisions automatically:
- Colors — slots for page background, intake-form surface, gap-display accent, scenario-card colors (best/base/worst), and the decision-triage block
- Fonts — a confident display font for the headline numbers and gap and a clean body font for the form labels and assumptions list
- Copy — intake field labels, goal and gap explanations, assumptions list, scenario descriptions, decision-triage options, and action-step text
- Images — small icons for each intake category and the three scenarios, plus any reassurance imagery to soften the diagnostic feel
- Behavior — toggle whether the calculator saves results, whether students can run the scenario sliders interactively, and whether the page exports as a PDF reality-check sheet
