Numeric Input — Calculator / Forms Variant
An open-response numeric question set with tolerance-based feedback that mirrors a real-world calculator workflow — pilots a federal tax calculator but the pattern fits any form-style numeric practice.
Best for: Calculation practice lessons where learners enter dollar amounts, percentages, or quantities into a structured worksheet and need instant tolerance-based feedback.

What it does
- Form-style numeric fields — clearly labeled inputs with units (dollars, percent, hours) so the learner knows exactly what to enter
- Tolerance-based grading — answers within a creator-set range are accepted, so rounding doesn't punish learners who got the math right
- Per-row feedback — green correct, amber 'check again', and an optional hint that opens beside the field
- Running totals or summary — a final summary row shows their computed total beside the expected total when the worksheet is form-shaped
- Reset and try again — a clear button resets the entire worksheet so the learner can drill it as many times as they want
Best use cases
- Tax and accounting — tax prep exercises, deduction worksheets, payroll calculations
- Personal finance — budget builders, debt-payoff calculators, savings rate practice
- Real estate and mortgages — affordability worksheets, closing-cost estimates, ROI calculations
- Operations and admin — invoice math, commission calculations, expense reports
- Healthcare admin — dosage worksheets, billing codes practice, insurance estimate forms
What you can change with your DNA
When you run this through the remix skill, your CCOS DNA — brand, voice, audience — drives these decisions automatically:
- Colors — slots for page background, field background, correct/incorrect feedback colors, and accent
- Fonts — two roles: a clean body font for labels and inputs, plus an optional monospaced font for numeric values
- Copy — title, intro paragraph, field labels, helper text, hint text per question, and feedback messages
- Images — optional logo, form letterhead, or icon set that makes the worksheet feel like a real document
- Behavior — choose the number of questions, the tolerance per question, whether to show hints, and whether to grade per-field or all-at-once
