Drag-and-Drop Categorization — Career Map Variant
A career-pathway styled sorting activity where learners drag tiles into the right group buckets, with a polished dashboard register that suits coaching and certification programs. Pilots a CareerOS skills-to-roles sort but the pattern fits any classification or grouping check.
Best for: Coaching, certification, and professional-development sorting activities where the visual register should feel like a polished workplace tool.

What it does
- Drag-and-drop tiles — learners click and drag each item from a shared pool over to one of several labeled category zones
- Dashboard-style layout — clean columns, generous spacing, and confident typography give the activity a workplace-tool feel
- Instant correctness feedback — correct drops snap into place with confirmation; wrong drops bounce back so the learner can reconsider
- Optional icons on tiles — items can carry small icons or photos to add a visual cue alongside the label
- Progress indicator — a counter or progress bar shows how many items remain in the pool
- Completion state — celebrates when every tile is correctly grouped and signals the check is complete
Best use cases
- Career coaching — match skills to roles, transferable strengths to industries, or experiences to job functions
- Leadership development — sort behaviors into leadership archetypes or competencies
- HR and L&D — classify scenarios into company values, capability bands, or performance levels
- Sales enablement — group objections by stage, or signals by buyer persona
- Professional certification — group regulations, frameworks, or compliance items into their domains
What you can change with your DNA
When you run this through the remix skill, your CCOS DNA — brand, voice, audience — drives these decisions automatically:
- Colors — slots for page background, tile color, category column colors, correct-state highlight, and incorrect-state highlight so the activity can match brand or program colors
- Fonts — two font roles: a confident heading font for the prompt and column labels, and a clean body font for tiles and instructions
- Copy — the prompt, column labels, tile text, encouragement messages, and completion copy
- Images — optional tile icons and column glyphs; swap in role icons, skill badges, or brand symbols
- Behavior — choose strict vs. forgiving feedback, the number of columns, and whether tiles can be re-sorted after placement
