Choose-Your-Path Lesson — Branching Track Selector

A branching lesson where the learner picks their track up front and subsequent video segments adapt to their choice — pilots a marketing fundamentals lesson but the pattern fits any course with multiple learner profiles, skill levels, or starting points.

Best for: Self-paced courses with multiple learner profiles, skill levels, or goals — let people choose their own track instead of forcing one linear path.

What it does

  • Upfront path selector — opens with a clear question and 2-4 path cards the learner can pick from before the lesson starts
  • Branched content reveal — once a path is chosen, the lesson shows the videos, examples, and language tuned to that learner profile and hides the rest
  • Switch-track option — a small control lets the learner change tracks mid-lesson if their first pick wasn't right
  • Track-aware progression — the next-step suggestions at the end of the lesson reflect the path the learner chose, not a generic catch-all
  • Smooth transitions — switching paths fades content rather than reloading the page, so the lesson feels continuous

Best use cases

  • Mixed-skill-level courses — beginner / intermediate / advanced track selectors
  • Role-based curriculum — designer / developer / PM tracks through the same material
  • Goal-based personalization — 'I want to launch' vs 'I want to grow' vs 'I want to scale'
  • Niche-based onboarding — coaches, course creators, and consultants get different first lessons
  • Onboarding flows — let new members pick the path that matches their reason for joining

What you can change with your DNA

When you run this through the remix skill, your CCOS DNA — brand, voice, audience — drives these decisions automatically:

  • Colors — slots for the path-selector card backgrounds, accent for the active selection, page background, and body text
  • Fonts — two roles: a clear heading font for the path-selector question and card titles, and a readable body font for the content underneath
  • Copy — the framing question, 2-4 path card labels with short descriptions, the per-path video titles + caption blocks, and the per-path next-step suggestions
  • Images / Media — embedded videos (one or more per path) plus optional path-card icons or thumbnails. Each path can have its own visual identity.
  • Behavior — control how many paths there are, whether learners can pick more than one, and whether their pick is remembered if they leave and return

How remixing works

From "swiped it" to "shipped it" in three steps.

01

Pick a remix

Browse the library, find one that fits — like this one.

02

Run it through your DNA

The remix skill uses your CCOS DNA to swap colors, fonts, copy, and structure so it lands as yours.

03

Ship it

Paste the finished HTML into Thinkific, Kajabi, WordPress, or any platform that takes embed code.
